Denim & Design

When your friend turns a dream into a destination, you show up. And then you tell everyone you know.

Let me set the scene.

Back in what feels like a completely different life, I interviewed for a sales position at Arhaus Furniture at Legacy Village.

Enter: Marianne Minogue.

She was on the other side of the table, but the moment I met her—with that megawatt smile and laugh that fills a room—I knew we’d be friends. Arhaus was a chapter full of learning and lovely things, but life pulled us in different directions. I went full throttle back into real estate and interiors.

Marianne? She kept climbing in the world of luxury furniture, working with a company out of Alabama. But even as she thrived, she never stopped dreaming.

That dream? A boutique of her own.

Fast forward to now. Marianne’s back in Northeast Ohio, in a home she bought (yep, with me!) right in Richfield, and she’s finally opened the doors to her vision:

Denim & Design

a boutique that feels like the best kind of love letter to women with great taste.

Let me tell you: it’s a whole vibe.

I finally made it in for a long-overdue visit after their June opening, and it did not disappoint. Primarily a women’s fashion boutique, yes—but don’t box it in.

This is a place where timeless style, thoughtful curation, and one-of-a-kind pieces live together in harmony. The clothes? Small batch, hand-picked, and never cookie-cutter.

You’re not going to run into six other people in your dress at brunch. These are classic-with-a-twist staples that feel elevated and fun, with just the right nod to trends without falling into “fast fashion” territory

And the vintage denim jacket rack?

Honestly iconic. Marianne has this effortless way of blending the old with the new—like fashion alchemy. Think scarves, handbags, and jewelry that let you create a look that’s you, not just what’s “in.”

But it doesn’t stop at style.

The shop itself is stunning. I was smitten with a woven wall piece (still thinking about it, tbh), plus mirrors, vintage art, and so many fun, funky finds.

There are candles (obviously—it smells amazing), housewares, furniture, and an entire wreath room.

Yep. A wreath room. You can buy one for your door, gift one to your friend, or go full-on crafty and design your own like I did.

Want a little help?

Bring it back and Marianne’s team will zhuzh it up for you.

And here’s something that moved me: in all her travels, Marianne—who is deeply rooted in her faith—came across a prayer wall that stuck with her.

She knew then and there she wanted one in her store. Now, right inside Denim & Design, there's a space for anyone (yes, anyone) to pause and write a message of hope.

Even if religion isn’t your thing, the invitation is open. Positive vibes. Prayers. Good intentions.

And honestly, in this line of work, don’t we all need a little more of that right now?

I snagged a set of vintage coasters I claimed were for one of my Airbnbs, but let’s be honest… they’re 100% staying in my own living room.

And because Marianne’s not just selling things, she’s building community, she’s hosting her first event on August 24:

A jewelry swap with all proceeds going to charity.

It’s the perfect way to refresh your sparkle and do a little good. (Details in the link below—don’t miss it.)

Denim & Design is magic.

Go now. Thank me later.

Seriously, get yourself to Main Street and see it for yourself. Tell Marianne I sent you—and then tell me what treasures you find. Because you’re not leaving empty-handed. Promise.

Denim & Design is located at 219 N. Main Street in Hudson, Ohio.
