Pride and Joy!

It’s June! Summer, backyard barbecues, mosquito bites, and…

it’s Pride Month!

Rainbow flag? Raise that puppy! ‘Tis the month to find your pride in what makes you, well…YOU!! To celebrate your you-ness!

LITERALLY why the flag is a rainbow!

All colors! All types! All humans! All love!

All acceptance.

Pride Day is officially June 28th; the anniversary of the first Pride march, held in NYC in 1970, exactly a year after police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay club in Greenwich Village, on June 28, 1969.

How far we’ve come! I totally get that it seems like foreverrrrr, but in the big picture?

50 years is not long at all!

And let’s focus on the positive!

Pride Month is all about positivity!

When I was in Utah a year ago, and happened to be there for their HUGE Pride Parade, rainbow flags were flyin’ everywhere! Nobody cared who carried them or who those people loved!

In the midst of newspaper headlines filled with the opposite, let’s take Pride Month, grab it by the horns, and dance with it all day (year..?) long.

Because love is simply good.

Always.

I wanna re-name it “Love Month” but I’ll take pride in Pride Month, too!

Whatever you are, whatever makes you different, unique, odd, quirky, special, weird, wacky or wild, this is the month to wear those badges with pride!

Actually, do it EVERY month.  But for heaven’s sake, do it THIS month!

You’re my tribe! You’re my people.

I LOVE that not two of you are alike.

I am celebrating you guys—ALL of you—and I pray you are celebrating your

“you-ness” too.

Happy Pride Month to all!!
