Throwin’ Shade at Window Panes

Window treatments can be such a pane.

I shutter even thinking about them…

But if there’s three things I’ve learned about adulthood, they are:

Quicksand is not gonna be NEARLY as big a deal as I thought it would.

“Errands” become “going out” way sooner than expected.

And window “ treatments?” cost more than spa treatments!

And are like, super less fun. Or relaxing!

But, right? Between rugs and windows our budgets are BLOWN.

Here’s a few ways to make your windows Pop! without spending a medium-sized fortune.

(I found a fantastic link with like, a million window tricks. I’ll share some here, but give you the link at the end to check out! Tons of awesome advice!)

1. A “ valance” is LITERALLY a piece of fabric, draped over a window. Fabric! You got that! And if not, don’t forget I’m an interior designer with connections to create any treatment you can dream up.

2. Blinds can be super affordable! Like, crazy good. And transform a room!

3. Curtain rods can be ANYTHING. Wanna add some attitude to your windows? Use copper or iron plumbing pipes in place of standard curtain rods. Rustic, shabby chic, AND affordable!

4. Roman shades are actually DIY possible! Link is below, but do NOT underestimate yourself!

5. Hook and rings? Not just for shower curtains!  So. Many. Options.

6. A “cornice” is an awesome way to give a window some pizazz, and you can literally make them by hand. For pennies!

And hats off to whoever invented blinds! Thank you!

Without them, it’d be curtains for all of us.
